We had planned to do a robbery. We were short-moneyed all the time and we wanted a change. In our village there was this shopkeeper who was blind. He owned a liquer-store. One Friday night, just before the shops were closing I entered his shop, put on my portable cassette-recorder and placed my air gun on his chest. Then we heard the words: "This is a robbery, give me all your money, put it in this bag and do it quick". The voice was a man's voice, so it would sound more bully-like and was meant to mislead him. He did what the voice told him. We had recorded an extra "hurry-up" in case he dawdled, but I didn't need it. His hands were trembling when he reached into his cash-register, and with his head up in the air, looking into nowhere, he emptied the drawer and put the money in the bag. When I came outside I calmly walked to our meeting point, climbed on the back of my friend's motorcycle and we sped off. The motorcycle was a mistake, it made a lot of noise. And because the shopkeeper was blind he had the hearing of a dog. We were busted. .
